Human beings rely on the soil to live. Soil gave birth to countless lives and it is not only providing the living space, but also supplying essential survival food to human beings. For us, the soil is more than an important material for living but also the achievement of human civilization. Our ancestors cherished awe. They sacrificed offerings to the world expressing reverence for nature. Yet, people no longer pay attention to the land. They exploit the resources from land. Under urbanization, the concrete jungle replaces our original green land, so that our environment is moving away from the nature.

Thus, pottery is our exhibition’s theme. From an artistic point of view, this exhibition aims to explore the relationship among pottery and the four important aspects of human life including nature, territory, society and people. This reveals human activities be the reason of the disappearing, valuable land.

泥土是人類賴以生存的資源之一， 它有著最天然的特性，孕育了無數的生命， 為我們提供了生活空間，更供應了生存必需的食物。對人類來說，泥土不僅是不可或缺的重要素材，更成就整個人類的文明發展。我們祖先對土地懷有敬畏之心，以祭天地來表達對大自然的尊崇。反觀現代人卻不再重視土地，過度開發土地資源。在都市化之下，石屎森林逐漸取代原始的土地空間，令我們的生活環境逐漸遠離自然的土地。

是次陶藝展覽以泥土為主題，從藝術的角度探究陶藝與大自然，土地，社會，人類這四個層面的關係，從而揭示珍貴的土地因人類活動正逐漸消失。
