Art comes from life, so do the ceramics art. Ceramics artists like to show the details of life and emotional expression of their unique understanding of life by ceramics work. They are accustomed to use ceramics to record their own lives, and also melting the lives of the general public into their artworks. Through this, audience can have clear understandings of the life, and reflect on the current attitude towards life.

Wong’s pottery is based on daily life, and the common themes are food, such as fruit, green peppers and lotus root. By using familiar things in daily life, audience can be easily aroused. Wong’s love towards her parents is also projected onto her work. She shares her stories through artwork.

黃美嫻的陶藝創作極具生活化，多以常見的食物為主題，如楊桃、青椒、蓮藕、核桃等等，利用大眾所熟識的事物，引起觀者共鳴。藝術家對父母的情感都投射到陶瓷中，透個作品與觀者分享自身的故事。
 Foodprint Corn dish-Food complex- "Corn dish" is derived from the Wong's own story. Her mother did not allow her to have snacks so she cooked her corn. Corn was then became her snack. Therefore, she uses bowls for instruments, and engraved corn pattern in the bowls. The bowls are useful and full of Wong’s personal style. She combined her life, emotion and ceramics into one expressing her nostalgia for the mother. |  Tofu feast-Life as “Tofu”- "Tofu feast" symbolizes a person's birth as a white bean curd. It can be whatever taste by adding the desired flavor which is just like a person's growth process. Artist uses tofu as theme to thank her parents for their care and education given in her life. Tofu also features easy rotten characteristic like a fragile life and together with the gas plastic beads for the protective effect of packaging materials bringing out the food and life are also very valuable. |
